Freelance Florida Photographer: Art Basel 2012

Art Basel 2012 . We survived. Barely.

The worst part about Basel is the experience of one big impossible task of chasing every show/event that's on your "must see" list. Alternatively, an opportunity to realize you can't be everywhere at once, so be complete in where you are.

If I look at it from the latter perspective, Basel 2012 was a personal success.

While I was only able to make it to one evening this year, here's a look at just a few of the events/moments/people/ideas that kept me completely entertained:

Aly and I arrive at the NADA(New Art Dealers Association) Pool Party....

When our eyes started to blur from the seemingly endless halls of art, we headed from the beach, to Wynwood.

Stopping at Panther Coffee was a must for us. Plus we met up with a friend, Chad. SIDE NOTE: Panther was featured in this American Express commercial with music by Kishi Bashi, shortly after I got to photograph him. See the blog about it.

Cocktails and Coffee.

Adventures in Basel-land: Part I.

Adventures in Basel-land: Part II.

Woah.

Truck full of coconuts.

He's taking over the (art) world. Many congrats to fellow AIFL'er Sean Murdock!
Some dude.

I was taking a photo of this....

...when he jumped in and said he wanted a picture. This happens a lot. Usually they're drunk. Sometimes annoying, but he made me laugh. I especially like when this happens and they're SO stoked to have a photo taken then just walk away. I'd imagine at some point they realize, "Hey, I'd like to see that picture but I have no idea who that stranger was." If someone knows this guy, tell him you saw this photo. Thanks.

Sweet ride.

Eventually, it all starts to look like this.

Prom style.
Panache party! YES!

"Want me to do a freeze or something?"

When Fun and Work are Interchangeable: South Florida Freelance Photographer

In the attempt to just have a fun social night I decided that I was going to focus on just enjoying the of Montreal show in Miami, and I did. Although, I have to confess, I couldn't resist the urge to take a few photos.

I don't know who I was trying to kid, I always bring my camera, "just in case."

Even when I'm not "working," I'm still working. I love being a professional photographer!

Upward and Onward!
The best part about supporting a small business is that it builds a network of people that can connect and become successful TOGETHER!

As any small business owner knows, success doesn't happen alone. I am incredibly grateful for my clients, mentors, colleagues, and all of the opportunities operating a small business allows to learn and grow into being my best self.

At the core of my values, I believe that my success is dependent on helping others. Going forward,  do you have a project that could use a creative mind? Whether it's a new family portrait, headshot, promotional photo, or an event, please contact me to start our creative collaboration for all of your photographic needs.

Last but not Least: Feedback is ALWAYS appreciated.
Photo ideas. Constructive criticism. Moral support. Philosophical epiphanies. Recommendations of the best new book. Critiques of classic music albums. I value what YOU have to say! Please don't hesitate to comment even if it's just to say "hi!"

Thank You, for reading!!

Kacie and Bryan {Palm Beach County Wedding Photographer}

Good weather is always a hope for a wedding day, but sometimes you've got to use a back up plan. Fortunately, Kacie and Brian had a back up plan for their ceremony on October 27, 2012.

We moved indoors, and were thankful, as were many other Floridians, that Hurricane Sandy was not a bigger threat. Here are some of the North Palm Beach wedding highlights:

Congratulations, Brian and Kacie!!
