Art Basel 2011: South Florida Photography & Ecology
If you're a fan of my Photography by Monica page on Facebook you may have seen that I was invited to show work at Art Basel this year! Everytime an oppotunity comes along I realize my gratitude and don't know where to begin thanking people. It's all connected in one way or the other. One opportunity connects to the next, but most recently I need to thank Brady Newbill for his generosity in extending me an introduction to Breven Angaelica Warren, the host of the Angaelica Show where my work will be displayed. (I met Brady through his brother Travis, whom I met through the New Times crew, and the thread of gratitude continues....)
If you have some time/interest, please take a moment to check out Angaelica.com, which is a non-profit eco-organization expressing socially conscious messages through and for the support of artists. Sounds perfect for me, right? (I thought so too.) Most importantly, if you're going to be amongst the festivities in Miami, try to make it to the show!
Hope to see you soon!
Show Dates: December 1st-4th
Address: 2060 NW 1st Ave, Miami FL 33127

Fine Art Prints: South Florida Photographer
I'm excited to announce a new fine art limited edition series! Lately I've spent a lot of time posting images on Facebook. I love sharing via social networking knowing I'll receive commentary almost instantly. While this does have it's value, having a couple of exhibitions recently reminded me of the importance of printing. The quality of printing just can't be beat. The colors and clarity, i.e. sharpness are completely lost once uploaded and compressed onto Facebook. So I've decided to organize a few images that I think would make beautiful images for your home or office. Beginning with the first image below entitled, "After the Rain."

If interested in purchasing, please comment below. Or send me a quick e-mail at info@foodshelterart.com
Prices are extremely reasonable! How reasonable, you ask? For a limited time, you can purchase an 8x10 professional print for $20.00!! (plus S+H.)Custom printing options available upon request.
Look for more limited edition print images added SOON!

2010: Through my Lens
So here's what I was putting together that I didn't want to rush. I hope you like & ENJOY!
What a range of subjects! People and their stories intrigue me, as well as music and nature. So what kind of photographer am I? A GOOD one, I'd hope you'd say!
This has been a very special year both personally and professionally. I got married, and photographed many lovely couples getting married including some very close friends! I've said before, I'm so lucky that I get to celebrate my love of photography by photographing those who are in love!
I did my first printed interviews with CityLink Magazine, and New Times. I began freelancing with Broward-Palm Beach New Times.
I met some amazing people along the way and am already busy with projects to make this year even more fulfilling (is that possible?!)
Thank you for you support!
In Love and Gratitude,
Monica

Pregnancy Photo-shoot
Hi again. I wanted to share this photo. I did a fine art maternity session a couple weeks ago and could not have asked for a more beautiful woman to photograph! Unfortunately I can't share most of the pictures because they are nudes, but I wanted to share just these two.
